Sidebars are optional – the News List page doesn’t have one. However, they can be useful when want to include the same elements across a series of similar pages.
Individual News ‘posts’, for example, have sidebar widgets for ‘Recent Posts’ and ‘Search’. The Shop has its own custom sidebar, and this ‘Text’ element only appears in the sidebar of pages.
